Educated at La Retraite School for Girls, Mary had a love of painting and drawing from a very early age and at only 13 years was being commissioned to paint landscape and flower paintings. She continued to develop her skills and has exhibited successfully throughout the UK. Mary is married with two daughters and lived for a time in Zimbabwe and Cape Town where her work is well known. During her time in Africa, Mary developed a love of wildlife and since her return to England has found the abundance and variety of European wildlife to be a fascinating and exquisite subject, particularly as many species are now endangered. Her paintings are acclaimed for their attention to detail and accuracy.
